Clayton Taylor’s 45-year career in broadcasting took him across the state of Indiana – from Terre Haute to Evansville to Fort Wayne to Indianapolis.
In his early career, Taylor worked as a reporter and producer for WTHI and WFIE-TV before moving to Fort Wayne to accept the position of Executive News Producer for WANE-TV.
He eventually moved to Indianapolis and began working with WISH-TV in various roles. During his time with the station, he and fellow reporter Mike Androvett were tasked with forming the station’s first investigative reporting unit called “The I-Team.” Taylor ran the team for 10 years, and it still runs on Channel 8 to this day.
His career then moved into public television when he accepted the role of Vice President of Television Production at WFYI in Indianapolis. In his 20 years with the station, Taylor’s leadership led to a mountain of success and national recognition, winning over 100 Emmy awards in his time at the station.
Taylor retired from broadcasting in May 2021 and was inducted into the Indiana Broadcast Pioneer’s Hall of Fame in 2023.
