Harry Frey
Harry Frey, a long time Terre Haute broadcaster, passed away November 30, 2008. He was inducted into the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Wabash Valley Musicians Hall of Fame in 2007. Harry traveled the country as a musician for ten years from 1932-1942 before taking a job as an announcer at a local radio station. He left broadcasting in 1955 but returned three years later, taking a job in radio sales and news. He made a move to television in 1962 starting as a reporter for WTHI-TV before becoming the news anchor and then News Director. He retired in 1982 after 31 years in broadcasting. He later became administrative assistant for Terre Haute Mayor Pete Chalos.
Harry Frey was inducted into the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame in 2006.
