"In 1999 the Lilly Endowment Inc. and the Arts Council of Indianapolis took an innovative step to try to retain members of the city's creative class. The collaboration launched the Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship program, designed to recharge the spirits of artists and arts administrators.
Professionals working in disciplines such as music, dance, theatre, literature and visual arts are eligible for the two-year, $10,000 grants. Since the start, more than 400 grants have been awarded, infusing nearly $4 million into our community.
