The Morning Company was a weekly morning radio program on WIUS in the spring of 1982. Jeff L. Nance & Mike Conway had worked together on WIUS in previous semesters and brought together a group for the weekly program.

-16 hours a day during the season he’s working
-in office by 8am

-since we have so many freshmen, Coach Knight has to do a lot of teaching this year
-players have too many turnovers and fouls this season.. concentration issue

-didn’t play well in New York..hopefully it was a learning experience

-hardest part of being VP. Getting to know non-academic parts of IU
-physical plant, food services, IMU, transportation
-studying the budgets, visiting all the locations

-going into administration is a step down because we want to teach and do research
-I’m trying to keep doing research, has a book coming out

-American Federation of Teachers warned that Gros Louis has taken over Faculty

-most admins are part of faculty so not as big a deal.
-Faculty council sets its own agenda, not Gros Louis, just presiding officer
20:20 -born in New Hampshire. My dad was a Huron Indian in Canada, never got past sixth grade
-did a PhD in Wisconsin … interviewed at IU in ’63, but really wanted to move back
east
-thought I’d only be here a few years. Bloomington is a hard place to leave
-I enjoy my faculty colleagues and students.. stimulating
-I really like the Midwest now, people from elsewhere talk about relaxed faces
