WTHI. Indiana State University is installing a new emergency warning system with a siren on the roof of Gillum Hall. It will help alert the campus in case of weather and other emergencies.
ISU is paying for the system but is working with Vigo County Civil Defense Director Gil Leonard (he is interviewed) to set up the system.
They will be testing the siren the next day and Leonard says he is interested to find out how far away people can hear the new siren. Should cost less than $4,000.
