interview is over. This tape is other video of Yoakam and Ken Beckley asking questions on camera

00:00 Wide shot of Yoakam sitting in his chair
00:10 over the shoulder shot of Ken Beckley and Yoakam
00:40 woman off camera asks about Journalism and Telecommunications
When Yoakam retired, they got rid of joint Journalism/Tcom joint appointment
because the only one who could do it was Dan Drew and he didn’t want to do it.
01:00 so the three broadcast news classes were moved over to Journalism, and not a joint class anymore
J385 (newscast class) is doing a weekly newscast now
-under supervision of Don Agostino, Telecom chair, Journalism Dean, Dan Drew
doing the classroom component and Ron ???
02:21 Dan Drew wants it on the air. Yoakam doesn’t like to put lab work on air
-On Thursday nights on WTIU, probably up against ER on NBC
02:46 -the stories they do are pretty good,
03:05 I try to stay out of it…last thing they need is an old war horse standing behind them

03:12 Ken Beckley on camera, asking reverse-angle questions
-What were your thoughts on the Yoakam Endowment Fund?
-What technology and equipment will students need?
-What’s the role of Internet in journalism?
04:30 Ken Beckley talking about how tough Yoakam was on students and how he treated them as professionals… very fair ****
