Jimmy Mack
Jimmy Mack started in broadcasting by producing radio programs singing for and entertaining hospital patients during World War II. Mack married Peg Million in 1946 and they worked together in broadcasting. Mack worked for WHFB, WOOD and WISH. He worked for WXLW in 1963 and then WIRE. He and his wife were hosts on Teen Twirl as well as Teens & Tunes. They appeared on stage for many years from 1958 to 1973. Mack was the host on Saturday Almanac, a production with Purdue University. He also was the DJ for high school events and local hospitals. Mack sang with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir for 12 years and the Union Chapel Choir for 50 years.
Mack was inducted to Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame in 2009.
