Jerry Fordyce
Jerry Fordyce took a $12-a-week job at WGRC, New Albany, to break into broadcasting. He later was announcer and disc jockey of the “Breakfast Matinee” show from the station’s Louisville, Kentucky, studio. During the 1960’s Fordyce was station manager and news director of WNUW, New Albany. For two years he was public affairs director of WKPC-TV, Louisville. He retired from WXVW, Jeffersonville, in 1980 after working for the station on and off since its beginning in 1961. Fordyce read over 150 titles for the American Printing House for the Blind in Louisville. He died in 1993 in New Albany at the age of 75.
