Carolyn Churchman was a broadcaster for more than 50 years, blending her interest in music and her friendly style of interviewing. She got her first taste of broadcasting and public speaking when she was a child accompanying her father as he gave public addresses during the Indiana State Fair. Churchman interviewed celebrities ranging from Paul Newman to Loretta Lynn to even former Vice President Hubert Humphrey. She attracted large audiences to her programs on WXLW-AM and WFBM-FM and on television Channels 4 and 6. Churchman was also the host of a big band music video show on WAV-TV. She died at the age of 73.

Carolyn Churchman was inducted into the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame in 2006.
