Robert Bendick had a long career in television and other media. He was part of the original CBS-TV crew when commercial television was launched in 1941. Later in his career, he was the first dedicated producer for NBC's "Today Show." He was also involved in Cinerama, a wide-screen movie format invented as a way to compete with television.
Mike Conway interviewed Bendick as part of Conway's "The Visualizers" research project on the early days of American television news. The interview was conducted at the Bendick home in Guilford, CT.
