Larry Hatteberg is one of the greatest storytellers in American television history. He spent more than 50 years at KAKE-TV in Wichita, KS as a photojournalist/reporter, among many other duties. Generations of photojournalists worked at KAKE-TV to learn from Hatteberg. He was a two-time winner of the National Press Photographer Association (NPPA) Television Photojournalist of the Year.
Mike Conway and Doug Raines interviewed Hatteberg at his home in Wichita as part of Conway's "The Visualizers" research project on important people in television news history. Both Conway and Raines worked for Hatteberg at KAKE-TV and consider him to be their most important mentor in their careers.
