Robert Skedgell had a long career with CBS. Most of his time was in network radio, but he has the distinction of being one of the first television news writers in history. He was part of the CBS-TV news team in 1941 when commercial television in the United States was launched. Mike Conway interviewed Skedgell as part of Conway's "The Visualizers" research project on the early years of television news in America. Jim Wrocklage was the videographer. The interview was conducted in Skedgell's home in Jamaica Estates, NY.
