David Goodnow’s first job in radio as a reporter, air personality and salesman was at WAKO-AM/FM in 1959 in Lawrenceville, Illinois. In 1961, he came to WAOV-FM in Vincennes, Indiana. He was a news anchor at WTVW-TV in Evansville, Indiana, and WTHI-TV in Terre Haute, Indiana. He then served as one of the original CNN Headline News anchor-editors for 18 years. Goodnow helped sign on the first educational TV (now PBS) station, WVUT-TV, in Indiana.
