Howard Caldwell in India, Man on the Street Interviews

It appears Caldwell is attempting to get B-roll at the start of the clip, and he later talks to a group of men on the street about current events. Caldwell also returns home to a group of people embracing him and bagpipes.  

Video 1 (14:26) 

00:00: video starts with footage of a street through the windshield of a car, no music or commentary 

00:56 driver is shown driving, still no sound, flips back to street view showing cars and buggies 

02:30: many shots include people on bikes, still driving in the car, people walking in the road, camera is shaky 

04:00: more footage of buildings and busses is seen , still driving, no sound 

05:24: (Caldwell?) shown in the back of a car, gives reports about traffic in New Delhi, has yet to see an accident, emergency vehicles don't use sirens, many drivers are sikh 

6:39: footage cuts to people outside a building 

6:46: man is being interviewed, he says someone is a good member of Congress, Caldwell ask about opinion of US, interviewee say he has a high opinion 

7:27: Caldwell asks about vietnam war, interviewee says he doesn't know much about it, another man says the war is good and is working for peace, asks about Russia but interviewee has broken english and is hard to understand 

8:16: another two men are interviewed about his opinion of the prime minister, says she is educated and well-traveled 

9:00; a man says india will be self-sufficient in his lifetime and they are making good progress, another man agrees and says other country’s help is important, thinks being democratic is important, yet another man said they are the people to make the country great, a man said it's possible communism could come to the country 

8:56: “Let me ask another question” 

10:48: “In the next few years” 

Multiple speakers are giving some insight to how people in India think of their country’s politics and economy. 

10:55: man says economic process should not be stopped by outside pressures 

11:30: they talk about prime minister and her cabinet and if they are going to progress like they want to 

13:17: they talk about Congress parties splitting into 2 different parties, another man said they don't care for politics questions and they all think the country has a bright future 

14:23: man says they are the young generation, video cuts off

00:09: back to Caldwell interviewing the Indian men 

00:11: talks about Kashmir dispute with multiple men and they don't think the country can continue after clashes
