Video bio of Bill Baker, inducted to Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame in 2004;

As a kid growing up in Pennsylvania, Charles Baker got hooked on broadcasting when he accompanied his mother to her radio show. Later, he came to Indiana, first as a DJ in Kokomo at WIOU-AM, then to Indianapolis’s WIBC-FM as the overnight announcer. Soon he was “Bouncing Bill Baker” with the top-rated morning drive time mix of music and character voices. Movie Mirror Magazine named Baker “Disc Jockey of the Year” in 1962. He retired from WIBC-FM in 1969 and formed an audio and video production company. Baker was inducted into the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame in 2004 and died on Aug. 12, 2005, at 77 years old.
