Rosenthal began his broadcast career as a salesman at WFAM-TV in Lafayette, Indiana. He later purchased, operated and owned WFAM-TV and WASK-AM/FM where he did play-by-play for all Purdue University football and basketball games. He also led the push to carry high school sports. He stayed in the radio business for more than two decades. He is also recognized for having created a mobile facility that became a model for traveling C-SPAN units. Rosenthal was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007. He died in 2011 at the age of 92.
