Brian Lamb

Brian Lamb’s first broadcast job was at WASK-FM in his hometown of Lafayette, Indiana, working during his high school days as a disc jockey and selling advertising. He graduated from Purdue University in 1961. He helped found C-SPAN, the Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network, in 1979 and served the company as its chief executive until 2012. At C-SPAN, Lamb conducted thousands of broadcast interviews, including those on the programs “Booknotes” and “Q&A” with his unique interview style of focusing on short, direct questions. Over the course of his career Lamb received numerous honors and awards including the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the National Humanities Medal.

Lamb was inducted to Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame in 2005.
