Ann Wagner Harper

Ann Wagner grew up in Vincennes and got into radio at WAOV, where she had a singing show “Silver Lining Time.” Her vocal talents led her to Indianapolis, singing at WIBC during the day and at the Columbia Club at night.  Joining WFBM in 1947 as a staff announcer, she soon became the state’s first female disc jockey with an afternoon program “Make Mine Music.” When WFBM-TV came on the air, Wagner was singing in western wear on “Circle B Ranch” and on “Ann and Sue.” She later became chair of the Radio and TV Department and manager of WAJC at Butler University. Ann died October 13, 2016, at the age of 92.
